1 Bomber 3 Way

Resolutions are for the naive so this year I have goals. And among them blogging consistently is on the top of my list. And considering the amount of photo shoots I do on a weekend-ly basis, this goal is totes achievable! Speaking of goals, is Mumbai competing with Delhi when it comes to cold? This is the coldest I have found Mumbai weather to be in 7 years! But I believe there’s nothing a bomber jacket can’t handle! I got this velvet bomber from the good folks over at Redesyn and we have been inseparable ever since. Tracks, skirts or shorts no matter what you prefer – here’s how you can style any bomber like a total fashion fleeka a.k.a chica who is on fleek (yes, I will take all the credit of making this term up!).

1. Track On Some Monochrome Magic

Kicks: Adidas Superstars | Tracks: Thrifted | Black Bralette: Zivame | Necklace: Anupama Dayal | Photography: Vincent King

A pair of comfy tracks and jacket has got to be the current fave of all the celebs from Khloe Kardashian to our desi doll Jacqueline Fernandez. Trust me when I say this, This is also the combo the models wear off-duty no matter which fashion week we’re talking about. So this staple look was a no brainer. I added my superstars and a cute cloth necklace and it made me feel like I am Kanye’s hommie! (Yeah, I made that bitch famous!)

2. Swag With Some Shorts

Block Heels: Topshop | Swag Socks: Forever 21 | Denims: Levis | Crochet Cover-Up: Thrifted | Hamza Chain: Hippieque | Photography: Vincent King

This is my favourite look mostly because of my bias of being a shorts gal all the way. Currently I am also obsessed with cover-ups especially when I discovered the secret – they are not just for the beach! It only took a while to hunt down my swag-licious socks to go with the street-chic look and we’re back in business!

3. Skirt Up The Shirt

Kicks: Adidas Superstars | Skirt: Beneton | Boyfriend Shirt: It’s Boyfriend’s! | Tank: Koovs | Peach Cuff: Thrifted | Tote: H&M | Photography: Vincent King

Apparently a crisp white shirt looks even better when layered under any jacket. The proof is right in front of you! That’s how you spice up the styling for a simple tank and skirt combo. I wouldn’t recommend layering if you have a boxy figure because it might not suit you. But a cheat sheet to that is ‘confidence’ and there’s nothing you can’t pull off no matter what size or shape you are! So go forth and experiment with your favourite bomber, I’d love to see some pictures so tag me!

So Laid Back

So Laid Back So Laid Back So Laid Back So Laid Back So Laid Back So Laid Back So Laid Back So Laid Back

Photography: Rishabh Maliwar || Bralette : Zivame | Singlet: Colaba Causeway | Belt: H&M | Jeans: Forever 21 | Shoes: Adidas Superstars

Impromptu shoots are the best! And yes, this too was one of those spur- of-the-moment kinda shoots. If you follow me on my social media, you’d actually witness the fun we had shooting this look. From endless laughter due to uncomfortable posing (I don’t know how Kim Kardashian does it!) to squinting eyes due to the harsh sunlight, this shoot was such a delight! Also, because my photographer Rishab is the sweetest guy ever!

Coming to the look, a straight up casual OOTD consisted of a pair of trusted denims with a boho-printed singlet over a bralette. A black belt and a pair of cool kicks were just what I needed to accessorise the look for the day. Such a sporty meets sexy kinda look is the safest bet for a Friday, I’d say. So tell me how much you liked this look by commenting below.

xx until next time!

Pump Up The Basics!

I’ve never been the great minimalist when it comes to my personal style (for those who really know me, know this very well about me!). Perhaps I never grew out of the ‘dressing up’ phase. But all said and done, I do understand the essentials of basics; speaking of which one needs to own a good pair of white sneaks! I know Adidas Superstars are no new launch but somehow like half a billion people around the globe, I’m a huge fan of them!

Sticking to my vibrant palette, I choose a cut-out coral top and paired it with this skort (yes, that’s a thing now!). You could style this skort with a monochrome top as well but (like in life) I chose colour! To keep up with the atheleisure trend just make sure to take stripes and pair them up with the right kind of sneakers. Yes, that’s my secret to rocking this trend! If you’ve already got your hands on these Superstars, then take inspiration from some guys who really style them a level up! (Like me!)

Style them with your gym clothes like it’s the norm!

Goes well with military green and short skirts!

The Lush Life

Photography: Lucid Illusions || Knee high boots: Koovs | Dress & faux fur jacket: Forever 21 | Vintage style reflectors: Blurr accessories

The city looks so clean and green during monsoon that it’s hard to not love Mumbai. South Bombay especially being the architectural marvel, looks like it has been dusted off by a magic cloth. So what do I do when I see a beautiful yet gloomy day? Take on the town! All you have to do is pick out a bright printed dress and layer it with a jacket (because it can get a lil’ chilly sometimes). A pair of gum boots should be a perfect pick but if you are a little daring (like me) you can get away with a pair of faux leather knee-high boots as well. I love gum boots but there’s something really cute about the knee-high boots when paired with short dresses. Don’t you agree? You can always go a little edgy when it comes to picking out your sunnies for the day and that’s why I chose these vintage style silver reflectors. Keeping up with the dramatic lush life look, I even styled my hair in a faux bob! Tell me in the comments below if you want me to do a blog post to show you how to make a faux bob without cutting an inch of your precious hair! (You know you want to!).

Oh and speaking of monsoon, hope you have the essentials to survive the rains in style. If not, fret not and checkout this video below.

#It’s a Hippieque World

Music Composed by Anshuman Bhattacharya | Lyrics and Voice by Hrishitaa Sharma | Mixed and Mastered at Promethean Studios | Shot by Harshit Sohu | Video Edited by Chirag Chaddha

Seldom have we had a thought, an idea, a breakthrough that directs us towards a path. It is scary to start something new and even scarier NOT to! We can push ourselves to believe ‘this is not the right time’ or confine ourselves to the current reality shutting out the possibility of this space to grow but honestly, it is never too late! Take it from the person who had ‘The Hippieque’ tucked away in her list of things to do for more than 2 years. So one fine day I decided that I cannot contain this any longer in my mind, I need to set it free and let it come to life. So if you have a longing to do something, anything, that you have been keeping away, just try getting out of your schedule or your realm of excuses and go forth. Things will spontaneously fall into place; rather make way for it to succeed.

With the spirit of a free soul, a keeper of progressive and independent thoughts, The Hippieque takes to ‘Hipster’ to partially define it. Conforming to the style with a certain touch of panache and poise, The Hippieque embraces ‘Chic’ and together The Hippieque comes to life with both these elements keeping it glorious and grounded at the same time! To come to think of it, we live in a hippieque world where every person has an element of opposing the norm and breaking free to ‘breathe,’ also exhibiting an innate ‘grace’ of functioning. The Hippieque is in every one of you. You just need to embrace, love and flaunt it!

Hope you like it! Welcome to The Hippieque world!
