Molten Musings

I am a huge fan of cinching silhouettes as I believe in the notion – if you got it, you flaunt it! But sometimes, it’s good to slip into something loose and comfortable. This post was shot during Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort ’16 when I needed all the comfort (and fashion) in the world to survive the fashion frenzy around me. Cold shoulder tops are all the rage right now and that’s what instantly came to my mind while dressing up for the day. This glazed skirt featuring a thigh-high slit, had been lying in my closet since ages, as it’s not exactly a number you’d wear on a normal day (chances of getting a comment as ‘OTT’ would be higher than someone appreciating it!) So LFW was my only shot and I took it! I accessorised it with a black leather sling bag and a pair of wedged Adidas Originals. A charmed statement choker, which I had made a while back, brought a little boho touch to the look.

This look made me a complete head turner, sitting first row for some stunning shows that day. While most of you are already a pro at styling the cold shoulder trend, here are couple of tips to keep in mind (because why the hell not!)

1. Layer it with some amazing baubles

2. Keep it casual with a good pair of denims

3. Interesting back is a huge plus point

4. Keep it preppy with a lovely print!

So go on and have some fun with the cold shoulder trend and always remember…

The world is your runway and you’re a supermodel!

The Lush Life

Photography: Lucid Illusions || Knee high boots: Koovs | Dress & faux fur jacket: Forever 21 | Vintage style reflectors: Blurr accessories

The city looks so clean and green during monsoon that it’s hard to not love Mumbai. South Bombay especially being the architectural marvel, looks like it has been dusted off by a magic cloth. So what do I do when I see a beautiful yet gloomy day? Take on the town! All you have to do is pick out a bright printed dress and layer it with a jacket (because it can get a lil’ chilly sometimes). A pair of gum boots should be a perfect pick but if you are a little daring (like me) you can get away with a pair of faux leather knee-high boots as well. I love gum boots but there’s something really cute about the knee-high boots when paired with short dresses. Don’t you agree? You can always go a little edgy when it comes to picking out your sunnies for the day and that’s why I chose these vintage style silver reflectors. Keeping up with the dramatic lush life look, I even styled my hair in a faux bob! Tell me in the comments below if you want me to do a blog post to show you how to make a faux bob without cutting an inch of your precious hair! (You know you want to!).

Oh and speaking of monsoon, hope you have the essentials to survive the rains in style. If not, fret not and checkout this video below.
